Parking Assist Disabled

Hello all,

Just picked up my beautiful 85D on Thursday from Fremont. She is a gorgeous Silver Metallic with the 20" Grays! In any case, the rain has not let up enough to avoid the car getting "wet and dirty"!! The other day while driving, a tone came on and a small ! showed up next to my "T". The note said, Parking Assist Disabled. It remains today. I wondered if this is something that anyone else has experienced.

Of course I called the customer assist, and the tech rep said that my sensors may be dirty due to weather. Needless to say, I'm ready for the rain to give us another break so I can wash my car!!

It can happen in the snow if lots of ice gets cakes on the parking sensors. It's possible they are just exceptionally dirty but I have never gotten that alert from just rain. If cleaning the sensors doesn't work, definitely get it checked out.

I would get it checked. There's no snow in Vallejo that I know of . I have driven mine through lots of rain in the mountains, where lots of road debris, like pine needles, etc, get stuck on the sensors and I have never had an issue. Most likely a very simply calibration issue that can be fixed quickly.

I'm fairly certain your car needs some driving time to calibrate the parking sensors which will enable parking assist. Your delivery specialist should have told you this during the delivery. I recall them telling me this but it wasn't too long before that warning went away.

Either way preform a reboot (while in park) on your computer by pressing down the brake pedal while simultaneously holding both scroll wheel buttons until the screen goes blank, keep pressing the break pedal and both scroll wheels until the T logo comes up, at this point you can release everything. This was the "proper way" to reboot the computer told to me by Tesla tech support.

I got this same message this evening on my way home. i was wondering if you were able to resolve your issue? I'm told my tech support that they will submit logs from my car to my nearest service centre. i'm expecting a call back tomorrow.
