With Success of Iridium 2, SpaceX Completes Two Falcon 9 Landings Over Weekend

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tIwZg8F9b8″ video_title=”1″][vc_column_text]SpaceX successfully launched and landed a pair of Falcon 9 rockets within a 48 hour window this weekend, a remarkable milestone for the company.

Efforts to create a game-changing commercial space company are truly beginning to materialize. During the last 14 months SpaceX has flown 15 times. What’s more, the company has successfully reused a rocket on two occasions, amounting to massive cost savings.

In fact, CEO Elon Musk has publicly taunted competitors, saying the savings amount to a free satellite.

A mission last Friday launched the BulgariaSat 1 communications satellite. BulgariaSat 1 will provide direct-to-home television broadcast and data communications services over southeast Europe for Bulsatcom. Another mission on Sunday launched another 10 spacecraft for telecommunications company Iridium, which is in the process of replacing its global network of satellites. A replay of the launch is available above.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
