Tesla has added a new interior finish for the Model S and Model X, but removed an interior choice for performance models. TMC Member evster spotted the update made to the Tesla website early today.
The new finish is called “Oak Decor,” which is available with the “Cream Premium” interior option. The finish offers a slightly lighter color for the interior trim. Unfortunately, Tesla also removed the the Cream Premium and Black textile interior options for the Model S and Model X performance models. Going forward, performance cars will only have black or white interiors. So, no “Oak Decor” for those who like to go fast.
“I am disappointed that they are reducing choice on such an expensive vehicle,” TMC Member SucreTease said. “It’s one thing to get options you didn’t necessarily want because they are packaged with what you do want. But it’s another to eliminate choices like these.”
Tesla started bundling interior options last year in an effort to simplify production, which meant that some combinations of interior colors were no longer available.
