Model Y Hits Tesla Website With New Teaser Image

Days ahed of the Tesla Model Y unveiling, the carmaker has started shedding more light on the highly anticipated all electric crossover.

Tesla has created a landing page for the March 14 unveiling that uses a similar image of the Model Y released at Tesla’s 2017 Annual Shareholder Meeting, but with a bit more brightness to make out the shape of the vehicle. Given the Model Y is said to share 75% of parts with the Model 3, it’s not surprising to see similarities to the popular mid-size sedan.

The unveiling event will be livestreamed Thursday starting at 8 pm PT.

Tesla plans to achieve “volume production” of the Model Y by “the end of 2020,” according to a shareholder letter released in January. Production for the Model Y is expected to be at the company’s Gigafactory 1 in Nevada.
