Tesla Updates Model 3 Range, Performance, Wheels

Tesla’s online configurator updated this week with some significant changes to the Model 3.

The refresh of the automaker’s most popular vehicle adds range, performance, a power trunk, and cosmetic updates to both the interior and exterior.

The Standard Range Model 3 went from 250 miles of range to 263 miles of range per charge. The Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor AWD received 31 miles of new range to an EPA-rated 353 miles. The Model 3 Performance improved range from 299 miles to 315 miles.

The Model 3 is also quicker now. The Long Range Dual Motor AWD Model 3 improved its 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds to 4.2 seconds. The Model 3 Performance’s 0-60 mph improved from 3.2 to 3.1 seconds.

The Model 3 also has new wheels. The 18” Aero Wheels have an updated design. Standard Range Plus and Long Range Dual Motor AWD versions can sport new 19” Sport Wheels. And, the much-anticipated 20” Uberturbine wheels are available for the Model 3 Performance.

Tesla has ditched the piano black finish on the center console in favor of a matte silver finish. Additionally, double pane glass and powered trunks are now available on all Model 3s.

The updates had been rumored for a while, but the updates went live Oct. 15.
