Giga Shanghai could produce as many as 300,000 cars in the first month of the year, according to a Reuters report.
Citing anonymous sources close to the company, the report said a delivery rush at the end of the third quarter has helped drive those production numbers. The report said around 240,000 vehicles were shipped from the factory in the first eight months.
The production numbers are certainly a success, considering automakers are dealing with a global semiconductor shortage.
Tesla builds the Model 3 sedan and Modely Y crossover vehicle at the Shanghai factory. Most cars are built for China, however there are some exports to markets like Europe.
Tesla is expected to announce production numbers early next month.
