Tesla on Monday reduced the prices of of the Model S and Model X.
The Model S sedan was reduced by $3,000, while the Model X SUV received a $2,000 cut.
With the price cuts, the Model S now starts at $71,250 and the Model X starts at $71,950, not including federal and state tax credits. The changes come after the Model S and Model X received in March average price increases of less than 2 percent.
The company last week raised the price of its top-selling Model 3 by $400, pushing the base price to $35,400.
As with previous price adjustments, Tesla said in a statement that like other car companies it periodically adjusts prices and available options.
