Vice President of Global Communications - Tesla Motors
Ricardo Reyes joined the executive team as Tesla’s Vice President of Global Communications at the end of 2014. He currently oversees public relations, customer communication, and Tesla’s online presence.
Ricardo first joined Tesla in 2009, handling communications during some of Tesla’s most trying times. He helped bring the Roadster to market and laid much of the groundwork for Model S. He left Tesla for payment startup Square in 2012, before returning to Tesla in 2014. Prior to Tesla, Ricardo worked as a Google Executive as the Director of Communications and Public Affairs at YouTube. He previously handled litigation, competition and policy communications for the online search, services and products company.
Before that, Ricardo spent a decade working on public policy and communications in Washington, D.C., including two years at law firm Bracewell and Giuliani LLC, where he led crisis consulting and communications management services. Among the corporate and political clients he advised, Reyes worked with automotive suppliers as they faced major changes to their business structure.
