Tesla may launch in India as soon as the coming summer, according to a tweet from CEO Elon Musk.
Musk replied to an inquiry on plans for India and replied that the company is “hoping” to have a presence in the country this year.

India is the latest to join the list of countries expected to see Tesla rollout in 2017, including the United Arab Emirates, Portugal, Taiwan, South Korea and New Zealand.
The market could prove to be an enormous opportunity for Tesla, as India’s Power Minister Piyush Goyal announced last year an ambitious plan to convert the nation’s entire car fleet to electric by 2030.
