Chinese internet giant Tencent Holdings Ltd. has bought a 5% stake in Tesla Inc. The $1.8 billion stake was revealed in a regulatory filing and makes Tencent one of the largest holders of Tesla shares.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk acknowledged the investment on Twitter in a reply to a Bloomberg article.
