Workhorse Trots Out New Details On Its Electric Pickup

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TJPf4dwEh8″ video_title=”1″][vc_column_text]As Tesla continues to tease its truck ambitions, competitors in the electric pickup category are beginning to move to market. Among those competitors is Workhorse, which has just released more details about its upcoming W-15.

Ohio-based Workhorse has built its own battery packs with Panasonic 18650 lithium-ion cells, rated at 60 kilowatt-hours. Electric-only range is rated at 80 miles. The W-15 will have a backup, 3-cylinder gas motor to extend range. With 460 horsepower, the truck will hit 60 mph in 5.5 seconds.

The trucks will initially be aimed at fleet customers. The company says they have already received more than 5,000 reservations for the $52,000 trucks, expected to hit the road in 2018.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
