Tesla CEO Elon Musk described an upcoming version of the company’s Autopilot software as “smooth as silk.”
During a tweetstorm, Musk hyped upcoming software that will deliver a new control algorithm expected to improve Tesla’s autonomous capabilities. Recent updates have increased speed limits on Autopilot – Autosteer and Traffic Aware Cruise Control at 90 mph on highways and 5 mph over the limit when off highways. These updates brought the second generation Autopilot systems on parity with the first version.
Other coming features and upgrades that Musk teased included automatic perpendicular parking, auto windshield wipers and a Linux kernel upgrade. See Musk’s tweets below.
Excited about the Tesla Autopilot software release rolling out next month. New control algorithm feels as smooth as silk.
