SpaceX To Take Second Try at Historic Mission Today

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/URh-oPqjlM8?t=29m48s” video_title=”1″][vc_column_text]Let’s try this again!

SpaceX will make a second effort at a historic mission today, an attempt re-use one of the Dragon capsules for the first time.

The livestream above will carry the launch, set for 5:07 pm ET from Cape Canaveral in Florida.

The Dragon capsule was previously used in 2014 to resupply the station. It will transport about 6,000 pounds of supplies to the International Space Station.

Additionally, SpaceX will attempt to recover the first stage of Falcon 9, returning the vehicle to a landing zone at Cape Canaveral Air Force Base.

Reusing both rockets and spacecraft is a big deal. Having the ability to recycle the equipment would slash the cost of space travel.

The mission was postponed on Thursday due to weather.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
