SpaceX Set for Third Launch in Two Weeks

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKmWeATngb4″ video_title=”1″][vc_column_text]We’re starting to get used to this weekend rocket launch trend. SpaceX plans to launch today its third Falcon 9 rocket in two weeks.

Today’s launch is scheduled for 7:36 p.m. ET from the launch pad at 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. It comes just a week after SpaceX’s “doubleheader” weekend, when it launched a rocket on Friday and Sunday.

Unlike those missions, SpaceX will not be landing the rocket. The communications satellite it will be carrying for Intelsat is one of the heaviest satellites SpaceX has ever launched. It’s also going to a particularly high orbit – 22,000 miles up. Given those two factors the Falcon 9 may not have enough propellant to stick the landing.

You can tune into the mission in the video above.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
