Update: SpaceX was successful in all stages of CRS-12. The company has executed 11 launches in 2017 and plans to launch at least nine more before the end of the year.
SpaceX is set to deliver a payload of more than 6,400 pounds to the International Space Station as part of its twelfth commercial resupply mission today. A launch window for the mission is set for 12:31 p.m. ET.
The mission – CRS-12 – involves delivery of a new supercomputer from Hewlett Packard that will be tested for potential use during long space durations, such as a journey to Mars.
SpaceX will launch from its LC-39A facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The company will also attempt to land and recover the Falcon 9’s fist stage at at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
