During the Tesla Semi unveiling, the company showed a sketch of the vehicle with a fat-fendered pickup bed. It was unclear if the rendering represented Tesla’s true pickup plan or if it was a demonstration of how the Semi can be configured.
You can squeeze a Ford F-150 into a garage. A semi truck, not so much. It’s hard to believe that Tesla’s pickup ambitions are based on what looks like a monster truck. But, the company has hinted that the pickup will be a mini Semi.

Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk cracked jokes about the rendering during the event. “It’s a pickup truck that can carry a pickup truck,” he said.
Further, he said, “You’ll actually be able to legally drive that with a driver’s license. It’s kind of wrong, but I like it.”
