The Boring Company has officially unveiled a flamethrower that’s for sale on its website for $500.
Many thought Elon Musk was joking when he said the company would offer a flamethrower as its next piece of merchandise following the sale of 50,000 Boring Company hats. But, the flamethrower now appears on the website for pre-order. The company says the flamethrower is “Guaranteed to liven up any party!”
The item description says:
-Fire extinguisher sold separately (for exorbitant amounts of money)
-Taxes and shipping will be added at checkout
-Additional customs fees may apply for international orders because of laws
-International customers can receive a full refund if not happy with said fees
-Before shipping, aspiring flamethrower aficionados will be sent a terms and conditions rhyme for review and acceptance
-Starts shipping in spring
-May not be used on Boring Company decorative lacquered hay bales or Boring Company dockside munitions warehouses
Musk said late Sunday that the company had sold 7,000 flamethrowers, or $4 million worth.
The tunnel digging projects planned by the Boring Company will require billions, so it doesn’t seem the hats and flamethrowers are an effort to raise significant amounts of capital. Perhaps Musk is just having some fun. See his tweets and Instagram posts on the flamethrower below.
