Another Dual-Motor Model 3 Spotted in the Wild

TMC member sreams had an interesting sighting at the track on Wednesday – what he believes to be a performance dual-motor Model 3.

Tesla says that the first Model 3 dual motor deliveries are coming in Spring 2018. The Model 3 spotted by sreams was wearing manufacturer plates.

According to sreams:

“I’m at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, CA for a track day today. When I arrived, there were 4 Model 3S with manufacturer plates on them. One in particular had 20″ wheels with Michelin Pilot sports, and *huge* brake rotors. I snuck my camera under the front wheel and caught a photo of the front CV axle, showing it to be dual motor. This was certainly a PD Model 3!”

Here’s the photo sreams snapped:

Other TMC members pointed out that it appears the car is equipped with air-ride suspension.

Sreams added, “This thing looks like it will be a beast!”

This isn’t the first dual-motor Model 3 spotted in the wild. Tesla podcaster Ryan McCaffrey posted a photo to Twitter last month that shows a Model 3 with a VIN denoting it was a standard, non-performance dual-motor car.

Full pricing and specs for a performance version of the Model 3 have not yet been released.

Editor’s note: The lead photo is a Tesla Model 3 stock photo, not the actual car spotted.
