Tesla Names New Board Directors – Larry Ellison, Kathleen Wilson-Thompson

Tesla has appointed Oracle founder Larry Ellison and Walgreens Boots Alliance’s Global Chief Human Resources Officer Kathleen Wilson-Thompson to its board of directors.

The company was required under the terms of a settlement with the SEC to appoint two new directors. The settlement was related to Chief Executive Elon Musk’s tweets about a plan to take the company private.

The Tesla board of directors is now made up of 11 people, eight men and three women.

Wilson-Thompson spent 17 years as an executive at Kellogg, and is now serving as Executive Vice President and Global Chief Human Resources Officer of Walgreens Boots Alliance, the nation’s largest pharmacy and health and wellness company with more than 350,000 employees. She has nearly 10 years of board experience, serving on public boards at two U.S.-based manufacturing companies.

Ellison is the billionaire Executive Chairman, Chief Technology Officer and founder of Oracle.

“Larry is also a big believer in Tesla’s mission, having purchased 3 million shares earlier this year,” the company said in a release.
