Spotify is world’s most popular music app, yet it has only been integrated into Tesla cars in Europe.
But, good news for North American owners – Spotify will soon be available. Chief Executive Elon Musk confirmed the news on Twitter.
Tesla has worked with music streaming service Slacker for years to deliver music to its owners. Most consumers likely aren’t familiar with Slacker unless they own a Tesla. They also likely have a preference for Spotify, so the lack of availability has been frustrating.
Tesla was reportedly flirting in 2017 with building its own music service, but there’s been no news on that front since.
Musk did not offer any details on when Spotify will be available in the U.S., but Tesla watchers expect the integration to roll out with version 10 of the automaker’s software.
