Tesla’s Pickup to Debut Nov. 21

Tesla is set to debut the “Cybertruck” on Nov. 21 in Los Angeles. Chief Executive Elon Musk has said the much-anticipated all-electric pickup is the company’s “best product ever.”

Musk tweeted the event details Wednesday.

The truck has long been teased as a completely different style of pickup than what is offered by the leading manufacturers. Musk has said he wanted “a really futuristic-like cyberpunk, ‘Blade Runner’ pickup truck.”

A teaser image released in March didn’t offer much detail, as there was confusion on whether it was a rendering of the front or back of the vehicle.

Musk continued to play up a sci-fi theme for the truck, as a follow-up tweet linked to a video of the 1982 film “Blade Runner,” which took place in November 2019.

Musk has said the company aims to build “something more functional than a [Ford] F-150, but a better sports car than a basic [Porsche] 911.”

“I think it’s the coolest car I’ve ever seen, to be frank,” Musk said of the truck that is said to have a “cyberpunk” design. “Not everyone may share that opinion, but worse-case scenario, we build a normal looking truck.”
