The Tesla Cybertruck delivered as promised – a weird looking pickup with amazing performance.
The design of the truck, which differs drastically from traditional pickups, is receiving plenty of commentary. It was called “genius level brutalism.” But also that it looks like “a Delorean mated with a Pontiac Aztek.”
Reviews are mixed. There’s a “different is good” camp and a “please change the design” camp. Still, many people where ready to place a reservation for the truck planned for delivery in 2022.

I personally think it looks so absurd that I absolutely love it. I placed two orders for it to replace my Model 3 and Ram 1500.
99% of people might think it’s fugly, but I LOVE it. It’s so unique that I’d take it over a high-end Range Rover, G-Wagon, or even a supercar. Bottom line is that I’m buying it for me and not everyone else. – imnotdavez
So many negative comments. Not sure it deserves them all. I ordered one, what the heck. It’s 3 years away, small deposit, and who knows what will happen in 3 years. I wish he had showed off the truck more, like open the front doors so we can see the inside for goodness sake. I’ve never followed the crowd so the looks don’t bother me so much. More interested in the range and towing capacity and off road capabilities. It doesn’t look like a finished product, as others say, where’s the side mirrors? – Marcia L
Many TMC members felt iffy on the design, but were pleased with the Cybertruck’s specs and features. Tesla is offering a high-end version of the truck with a 500 mile range, 0-60 mph time of 2.9 seconds, and a tow rating of 14,000 pounds. Even if the truck’s cosmetics don’t appeal, the performance specs tout it as a more than capable pickup for a variety of applications.

My immediate response was utter shock and thinking it looks like a pyramid. However, the innovations and additional info made the truck more attractive. By the end of the show I thought the truck is pretty badass.
Love the retractable covered tonneau cover and “bulletproof” elements of the truck. Reveal of Tri-Motor option, 500-mile range, 0-60 in 2.9 and carries up to six people and gear! That is pretty awesome and starts at $39,900. The design is already growing on me and I love that it is unique and immediately separates itself from the crowd. Unmistakable Tesla design. –AYCE
