Tesla’s Model Y is on the way. Several TMC members have reported finding an assigned VIN number for their reserved vehicle.
When Tesla released the Model 3, the distribution of VINs to buyers was one of the final steps before a customer received a notice for delivery.
So far, VINs have ranged between XXX400 and XXX800, which offers a bit of data to speculate on the number of Model Ys included in the first wave of production vehicles.
Those reporting VIN numbers were located around the country – Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, New York, and Ohio.
Photos on social media have shown a parking lot full of Model Ys outside of Tesla’s Fremont factory and others loaded on semis for delivery. It should be just a few more weeks before they highly-anticipated SUVs hit the road.
