Musk: Autopilot’s Full Self-Driving Feature to Debut Next Week

After years of promising a Full Self-Driving feature, Tesla will finally roll out the feature to select customers next week.

Chief Executive Elon Musk said on Twitter that a limited FSD beta will be available Tuesday, October 20.

FSD will initially be released to a limited number of people identified as “expert and careful drivers,” according to Musk’s post.

Last month Musk teased that an FSD beta would be coming in October and offer an undeniably improved experience.

“I think we’ll hopefully release a private beta of Autopilot, of the full self-driving version of Autopilot in, I think, a month or so, and then people will really understand just the magnitude of the change,” Musk said at Tesla’s recent Battery Day event. “It’s profound…you’ll see it. It’s just like a hell of a step change.”

FSD is certainly a long time coming and it will be interesting to see how drastically it improves the Autopilot experience.

Do you think 2021 is the year for Tesla’s previously promised coast-to-coast FSD trip?
