GMC Hummer to Debut Tonight

The electric pickup market is starting to take form, with General Motors planning to debut Tuesday a hyped, electrified GMC truck borrowing the Hummer badge.

The truck has been teased since a Super Bowl ad in February. So far we’ve only seen a shadowy silhouette of the truck, a shape and a front end characteristic of GM’s previous consumer market Hummer.

GM has posted a few videos to its YouTube account that offer some ideas of what to expect.

The truck is said to pack 1,000 horsepower, 11,500 pound feet of torque, and speed from 0 to 60 mph in three seconds. Teaser videos of the truck show an open roof and a “crab mode,” which allows the vehicle to move diagonally.

The truck will be one of the first to market, expected to go into production in the fall.

The unveiling on Tuesday is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET across social media platforms and during the World Series broadcast.
