Title: Exploring Driver Interaction with Autopilot Using Computer Vision
Date: July 29, 2016
Speaker: Lex Fridman, Machine Learning, Intelligent Vehicle Systems – MIT
Description: Lex’s group at MIT is running a new research study that analyzes advanced vehicle technology use in naturalistic driving. To date they have instrumented 6 Tesla Model S vehicles with cameras and other sensors capturing not only the external world but driver state and vehicle state as well. Their goal is to instrument over two dozen Tesla vehicles by the end of the year, recording and analyzing driver interaction with Autopilot over thousands of miles. His talk will use many short video demonstrations to show how they use computer vision and deep learning approaches to extract essential information about the driver, the car, and the external world during Autopilot use.
