      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I was thinking about the beauty of the Octovalve after I watched a Bjorn Nyland video that showed the car using heat accumulated in the battery after a Supercharging event to keep the cabin warm.<br />

We bought a 2014 Model S about a month ago.  It is our first EV, so we are a bit short on experience.  I am sure in a few years or even months, the answers to my below questions will be second nature.  Normal daily use is less than 20 miles, so range isn&#039;t normally a problem. Have had for some months. The possibility exists that Tesla will accept dramatically lower production and shipment rates on the model S and model X for some months, maybe even years, in order to gain the production of 18650s that could go into the power walls for that use.<br />

From the house to the main road is a gentle downhill so the Trip graph is flat. Then you start up the road the battery just nose dives going up the mountain.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Now that the mobile app shows the battery being conditioned, I&#039;ve been experimenting with the time it takes to clear the icon (and drive with a conditioned battery).<br />
<br />
This morning was 30 degrees outside (-1 C) and 40 degrees in the cabin (4 C).<br />
<br />
Pressing only &quot;climate on&quot; (no defrost) with target temp of 72, it took 8 minutes to get the cabin to target temp and 21 minutes to clear the conditioning icon.<br />
<br />
Tomorrow I&#039;ll post the time starting from full defrost.<br />
