I suspect no one is buying the Charge Point Home Flex for their Tesla as a first option - it requires a J1772 adapter and costs $200 more than the Tesla wall charger. But many electrical utilities - including mine in Portland - offer rebates for the Charge Point, but not the Tesla.
Just need some advice. I am going to be needing to charge from home but I live in a newly built (4 years) mid terraced property with an allocated parking space. My allocated space is adjacent to my back garden and is around 18 metres (20 yards) from my patio doors. I'm not planning on living here really long term and so am loathed to install a proper wall box charger. However, will be needing some sort of charging at home.

Would you recommend I simply have a 3 pin weather proof...

I'm looking to install Gen 3 charger for my upcoming M3 purpose, I only need 8' cable now but will need 18' if I buy a second Tesla. Doesn't appear Tesla sells the cables separately, are they hard wired or can you swap them out?
