We have had the S since mid December and until have been charging it with a 3 pin plug (16 A 4 kw).  It hasn&#039;t been an issue as it does a very low mileage, typically less than 50 miles a week.<br />
<br />
Last week we had a Zappi charger fitted to coincide with the commissioning of our PV system.  Initially I tested the Zappi on a fast charge and it put in 7 kw / 32 A as it should do....<br />

I am still on my original pack that has had no issues, but I am reading stories of out of warranty pack replacements costing north of $20,000. I am trying to gauge how many original owners of cars of my vintage have had their packs replaced.<br />

My dilemma is whether to keep the car past warranty, and roll the dice on the battery (and DU, of which I&#039;ve had 5), or sell the car and apply those funds to a new Model 3/Y. My out of pocket on that...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Lost 20km of max charging within 2 weeks on my S85D. At the 12th of May I was able to charge to 399km at 100% charge. 2 days ago the max charge has dropped to 379km all of a sudden. Temperatures at both charge times were around 18 degrees Celsius.<br />

Called Tesla and they’re telling me the car logs show battery degradation and saying this is “normal”. Has anyone on this forum ever had such a steep loss of max range in such a short period? 5% loss of the max capacity in 2 weeks seems a bit...<br />

To my surprise, I now have a new battery showing a ~92% charge to be 265mi and according to the app, 100% is 288mi!!!   I initially thought I got a 90kWH pack as a replacement but when I picked it up, battery label shows a part# 1014116-00-A with 85kWh, 350VDC (vs the old pack 400VDC)  Hopefully this pack does delivered the original performance or more, but my initial...<br />

My HPWC clunks and then it disconnects and starts the cycle over again. Since we have two HPWCs, I swapped chargers and tried the other one, but get the same results.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I just got an email from Tesla. I&#039;m in the UK, with an 85D model S from 2015, MCU1, AP1. Very happy with it. I have the old fashioned charge port (is it type 2?) and a home charger that has an attached cable that I plug into my S to charge overnight.<br />
I just got offered a CCS upgrade for £450. I&#039;m happy to pay for it if it actually achieves anything...but does it? i know this means I could then use the CCS cables on the superchargers instead of the old ones, but will that *actually* speed up...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Hi i am new to EVs. I have a 2018 Model S 75D and started the trip with 89% battery.  Temp outside is 41 deg F.  When I left I didn&#039;t preheat the battery as I didn&#039;t think it was that cold out and the car is stored in a garage. The trip was about 52 miles round trip.  When I got back to the garage I had 57% battery left.  Is this normal? <br />

I considered changing the battery myself with the help of U-tube but ultimately called Tesla.  A technician came to the house today and changed the battery in about 40 minutes.  Fee was $223. We stayed at a lodge east of Algonquin Park Ont. where all they had was 120v.  We were able to not have to drive (and wait!) at a destination charger as in early Feb with Covid there is not much you could do there-either walk around or read/play games in you car.  We arrived at our cabin with a warm battery having driven for 3hrs and supercharged from 23-81% in Bancroft.  Plugged in immediately upon arrival.  Open...<br />
