(I don't think it is a standard Tesla or Lotus color)

TEG, I believe that the Roadster you've pointed out is painted Twilight Blue. I think that a big factor in the color you're seeing is the reflection of the light-colored floor mixing with the car's "true" Twilight Blue color, resulting in the apparent aubergine/eggplant color.

Green Tesla Roadster?

I was thinking of maybe getting the green roadster....

but I've been unable to find pictures of one anywhere! Not a customer custom green... Not signature green, but the regular Solid Color > Racing Green.

Has anyone seen one? I don't recall seeing it in the colors discussion thread, or random roadster sightings. Of course I will look at it in person at some point before deciding, if I can... but it seems odd that there are so few.

(in the same vein.. what does a Jet Black compared to an Obsidian Black actually look like?)

PS: (mods can move this to a related thread if they want!)

The Signature Green was mighty classy... too bad :frown:

Though.... they WILL paint the Tesla anything you want for an extra fee right? Like iridescent green/gold or hot pink right? So couldn't you just pay extra for a signature green? Or a color that you totally came up with on your own that happens to look a hell of a lot like signature green?

And yeah, that pic of Racing Green was also the best one I could find, which is why I'm kinda bummed! (Also the high ISO on that pic is making my brain bleed)

You think its their least popular color?

That data is from a spreadsheet provided by owners filling in the data.
However, I recall from having seen a Tesla Motors spreadsheet of colors that the top three colors for the 2008 model year are:
1) Radiant Red
2) Thunder Grey
3) Electric Blue

VP3 is not Signature green. I believe it might be a metallic version of Racing Green. Hard to tell from a photo.

Doug, you put my quote onto another picture.
That mention of Signature Green was above a picture of VP1.

I didn't know or claim to know what color name went with VP3, but it is some kind of green.
