Tesla Roadster vanity license plates

Dot applied after "MR." when moved to the Roadster:

There is probably a BMW still driving around with "MYTESLA" on it...

Some of my cars have had an extra apostrophe added on... for years... so far no hassle...

"Feels' like a ski plate.

Chances of getting in any trouble from defacing a plate are very slim to almost none but it could happen. No big deal really. Possibly a small fine. Law is used to prevent license plate tampering. Say changing a 3 to an 8 or something.

It's mostly about not giving the Police an excuse to pull you over. Once they do that they can ask to search your car and if you refuse it starts to get complicated.

Luckily in this case the Roadster doesn't allow you more than a thimble sized cargo space. A police search can't uncover nearly as much troublesome material as it could in most any other car. :smile:

I'm actually quite boring on the "illegal" front (speeding excluded). As a teenager I did get pulled over once and the open convertible allowed the officer's search to find a single firecracker (illegal in CA) on the floor of my Spider. Luckily it was a few days after July 4th and I said someone must have tossed it in during the festivities. -At that age I was July 5th harvesting of unexploded ordinance so it had a bit of burn fuse- so he let me go.

I suppose you could fit a lot of firecrackers in a Roadster trunk...
