I've seen a few grocery store chargers setup like this in Florida. Its pretty nice since it makes icing a bit less annoying, gives those towing more leeway to pull in sideways, and also let's my kids swing their doors open without a care.

Doesn't seem like a stretch for Tesla to make superchargers detect a car is in the charging spot even if it isn't charging. At a minimum they could report those stalls as occupied.

I wish Tesla would convert to front-right configuration. That would help a lot with things like bike racks and cars w/trailers parking sideways.

I never turn overheat protection off except maybe once when I was going on a cruise (parking was outside). I would leave it on unless you need to also conserve battery.

In Alabama news, we do know Montgomery is getting a second supercharger that should service the I-65 corridor better. I think Orange Beach might be the only Alabama location listed for voting right now.
