First impression of FSD and how TSLA should promote it

After trying FSB on city streets, and local highways, It really seems to me that FSD on city streets is more of a solution looking for a problem. It's amazing that a computer and cameras can pilot a car as well as it does. But, it's just not a buy based on it's abilities and cost/benefit analysis.

New Martian wheels, new droning noise

    Very Nice Set-up!

New Martian wheels, new droning noise

I would normally agree that a droning sound is almost always tire noise. The only thing that dissuades me from this is that you changed the tires, but the noise didn't change. Does the noise change when you are on different road surfaces (Smooth vs Rough)? I can't really see the wheels making...

Aftermarket hubcap is difficult to remove

Some of the aftermarket caps, have a foam strip that goes around the inner ring of the cap, because they go all the way out over the lip of the rim. I have these on my Uberturbine style caps for my 18" winter set-up.

What makes a car "fun to drive"?

Role that Camry up next to my M3 LRAWD w/ AB. It'll be alot of "FUN" blowing that thing off the line. 😁

What makes a car "fun to drive"?

IMHO...The Model 3 is one of the most fun daily drivers you can have. Can you find other cars that can exceed the Model 3 in a particular category, of course, but as an all around fun daily driver. Pretty darn hard to beat. Puts a smile on my face every time I'm in the car.

100% range on new Model Y LR with 3 miles on it calculates to 301 miles

Pretty sure it's just a typo and you meant 279. The trend toward more accuracy I believe is really a good thing. The previous estimates were not at all representative of real life.

100% range on new Model Y LR with 3 miles on it calculates to 301 miles

Don't worry too much about all of the BMS and projected range "hand wringing". I recently got a chance to drive our 2021 MYP from 100% to 10% in highway driving (most at 80 mph, a little stop and go traffic) and a couple hours of parking with Sentry mode on. I was surprised I went 275 miles...

    Mileage calculations don't make sense

On March 12th we drove our 2021 MYP (w/19" snow tires on) 275 miles leaving the house with 100% and arriving back home with 10% remaining charge. This was all highway miles in Colorado most of it at 80mph, so stop and go traffic through Denver, Co. and a couple hours stopped w/ sentry mode...

Should I change both rear tires?

That nail is still within the tread blocks and therefore is repairable. Whether you chose to or not is a personal choice. Yes, the Tire shops will probably tell you to replace it, their business is selling tires.

    Acceleration Boost and Insurance?

Would you tell them you have purchased high performance sport tires that can corner faster than the All season tires that come stock on the vehicle? If not, then No it's just another addition on your vehicle. No different from any other.

    OTHER EV’S SUCK

Really??? Doesn't sound like you've gotten over anything. Sheesh that's quite the rant for nothing.

I'm not judging Tesla's FSD on where it may or may not be in 20 years. I'm basing my assessment of their current offering and cost vs benefit.

Tesla's Autonomous driving is an absolute joke! Building a suitable BEV has nothing to do with it requiring autonomous driving. Tesla has already proven that.
