Do we need a Tesla "Snuggie"?

It is not just the anti-Tesla or anti-EV crowd that gets worked up. As an ex-Roadster owner I found the OP's cold weather driving strategy absurd.

Do we need a Tesla "Snuggie"?

No one is arguing that, but to say an electric car is superior to an ICE car in that it doesn't use fossil-based energy is misleading. - - - Updated - - - @eco5280: Do you wear your rose-colored glasses all the time or only while driving? Who drives an ICE car in the way your describe? Not...

Do we need a Tesla "Snuggie"?

You got me there. I forgot about the "pioneer" factor. That alone is rational for owning a car you can't turn the heat on in order to make it to your destination. How are you going to get this car to mass market status when you have to make compromises such as no cabin heat in order to maximize...

Do we need a Tesla "Snuggie"?

Wait a minute. You bought a $100K car and have to drive WITHOUT HEAT in order to make it to your destination??!!? I find that horribly absurd.

    2014 Tesla P85D S Performance Paid $140,570 498 miles Every Option

You may want to stand up when you are typing. The pressure you are exerting on your brain when seated is making you sound like a moron.

Upcoming FW upgrade to "positively impact" essentially the entire fleet

Probably the last thing that is needed, but if it is then don't go complaining about your insurance rates going up!

    2014 Tesla P85D S Performance Paid $140,570 498 miles Every Option

You won't be a millionaire for long if your strategy is to lose $15,000+ on every car you buy. BTW - this lister is an auto wholesaler. Platinum Wholesale Auto | Used Car Dealer | Bellevue Washington

P85D acceleration compared to Disney's Rock 'n' Roller Coaster

Been on Disney's R 'n' R, haven't driven a P85D yet. For those of you who have had the benefit of both, would you say the acceleration is roughly the same? BTW - The coaster accelerates from 0 to 57 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds. So I would imagine getting to 60 would probably add .4 seconds.

Can the Model S and I make things work?

So . . . you are 24ish and can buy a $100K car? I am assuming you are fully contributing to your 401K, have at least 6 months of emergency living expenses saved and can afford the car insurance. Assuming you are not paying for the car with cash you are going to have a monthly payment equal to...

Owner robbed at gunpoint and Model S stolen while supercharging in Barstow...

Here is how it would play out; while you are fumbling to get your gun out of your waistband or holster or some such thing you will panic and put a round in your inner thigh. Assuming you were lucky enough to have missed your femoral artery, you will have dropped your gun and be writhing on the...

    State Farm Dropped My Insurance

Makes no sense at all. Tesla manufactures an expensive car made from aluminum panels. Insurance companies price their premiums commensurate with their risk. Reform their authorized service network?? Assuming I was a body shop owner with the expertise to repair aluminum panels (i.e. skilled...
