Tire dilemma for winter: Long and warm drive to the snow.

I usually put a set of dedicated snow tires on my SUV every winter that are left on for about 5 months and they seem to wear a little faster than regular tires and will become squirmy in temps above 80 degrees if you are cornering hard but other than that they work well. I guess with the MY the...

Tire dilemma for winter: Long and warm drive to the snow.

My take is that a dedicated snow tire (Vredestein Wintrac Pro seem promising) will enable you to actually drive uphill or not slide on ice and is only a marginal hit to energy economy on the long trips there. Around Tahoe I've seen plenty of folks with non-snow tires unable to move (or...

It turns out "tramlining" actually is a thing!

Yes thanks, the 255/45-19" is the Model Y OEM size for the non Performance Upgrade Package size wheels. Good call about the increase in sidewall possibly playing a role.

It turns out "tramlining" actually is a thing!

So I recently switched the MY OEM PUP 21" Uberturbines (wheels/tire/TPMs assemblies now for sale in parts section btw!) to 19" 8.5 Martian Wheels with the stock 255/45 19" tire size. Along with that I got the Bridgestone Turanza QuietTrack tires. Unfortunately, my experience so far with these...

Anyone with PPF have installation issues?

My installer used the pattern kit of stealth wrap from Xpel and it has the relief seam at that hatch crease with the carbon spoiler it's barely noticeable. He said because of the angle the seam was the only way it could be done. I agree with the above folks that you could get the spoiler put...

Model Y - the dirty dozen

How did you know to look for missing sound insulators on the AC and heat pump? Any pics of that issue under the frunk? I'm not sure I'd know what it should look like. And sorry about the car.....my vote is that you were correct to refuse that one for sure.

Delivery delayed a week due to "fit-and-finish" issues

Hey thanks mtndrew1, the paint depth gauge is a good idea. I guess I'm more questioning what they will be willing to fix with paint imperfections like nibs and fish eyes, and if they will fix before I take delivery vs. schedule a fix vs. tell me to like it or leave it? Also what is the paint...

Delivery delayed a week due to "fit-and-finish" issues

Awaiting a MSM MY and I am wondering about this issue when it shows up for delivery: If I notice paint issues such as fish eyes or nibs or swirls (or any other quality issues) will they be willing to fix them prior to me accepting delivery at the Tesla center? Sorry I hope I'm not hijacking...
