I went back and checked the time stamps and match with google maps for 1/4 mile (that the sheriff said I was hard accelerating for) and it took me 23 seconds to go 1/4 mile. That is slower that a geo metro and smartcar.

it was a sheriff. And yes his description is BS because I would have been in handcuffs if I was accelerating for 1/4 to 1/3 mile. In the footage you can see I stop accelerating right after leaving the opposite side of the intersection. And cruise at 45. Which is the speed limit.

If the ticket carries points then your insurance will be raised for the next 4-5 years. Usually the insurance is significantly increased so the true cost of the ticket can be 10x or more of just the ticket fee.
