50% is pretty dark for a windshield. Im all for ignoring tint laws but I'm not about to invite being hassled over it either. I have 70% on the windshield and wouldnt go much darker.

On a normal car that is totally repairable on a 3 thats a 50/50 shot. Its pretty localized damage but the crumply bits have indeed crumpled. With the recent crash of the used market it may get written off
