Indiana Owners - Alert - Info on Hearing 2/25

A humorous (in a decidedly creepy sort of way) aside. Less than 24 hours after my post about my phone call with my State Senator I get one if those emails that the "Business Development Coordinator at GM US Greater NYC area" wants to join my LinkedIn Network. How gross! Like that's EVER gonna...

Indiana Owners - Alert - Info on Hearing 2/25

^^^This. Senator and Rep are part time jobs in Indiana. My Senator is a remarkable, intelligent woman who is really a farmer who raised her kids and ran the farm after her husband was killed in an accident. Her knowledge of the car, the company, and the sales/service model was nil or extremely...

Indiana Owners - Alert - Info on Hearing 2/25

I just spoke with my State Senator I just had an hour long phone conversation with my State Senator and committee member, Jean Leising. She did not commit to an up or down vote. However, I got the VERY strong impression that she understands what is happening and does not want to stand in the...

Indiana Owners - Alert - Info on Hearing 2/25

Does anyone know the latest status of the committee meeting tomorrow? Specifically, are we going as a group and should we be prepared to speak?

Current "Classic S" owners looking to upgrade for autopilot - when? thoughts? etc.

I suspect that most of us will be in this boat a lot. The car will always get better and have new features. I would like AWD and some of the sensors. I can wait on Autopilot. I still love my classic. I have thought about an upgrade but not too seriously yet.

Consumer Reports is wrong about future reliability

This. ^^^ I still love my car and the company. It still amazes me. The entire process from ordering to now has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my life. Was everything perfect? Of course not. When something has been wrong Tesla has come to the house, picked up my car and dropped...

Will the second row seats fold flat? If so, how?

Us too. We have 4. Have had as many as 6. My wife calls her car the "kennel car." As much as she wants the X and as much as I want her to get it; I don't think we can do it if the second row seats don't fold flat. We'll wait until it's our turn to see if this option is available. We"ll look at...

v7 Performance Enhancements for RWD Model S

Is there a way to definitively tell if my torque is asleep? Does the Orange line go away at a complete stop when he's sleeping? Or some such actual sign?

    100% drive unit failure rate??

I'm not sure about the low mileage, or the driving style scenario. I'm not Jerry but my lifetime Wh/mi is 297 and I got a new DU (B series) in Sep of 2014 with 15k on the car. 1.5 years of driving.

Seeing a Model X before buying

We're in the same boat as the OP. I'm not worried about it but the car will be for my wife and she has to see it before she makes a final commitment. We're #1950 and I don't think this will be an issue. We'll find some reasonable way to get her a test drive that doesn't include traveling to...

Change of Policy on Tesla Ranger Service

I assume they'll still give you a loaner if you can drive your car to the Service Center? I'm going to need to check the new policy carefully. This may have an impact on my wife's decision to go through with the Model X reservation. I'm 59 miles from the nearest Service Center.

    Test Drives?

What do we know about test drives,if anything? How,when, where? I'm #1950. My wife needs to lay hands on one before she makes her final decision. Thanks.

    regen and brake lights

When I first got the car I was a little worried about this too. I beat it to death testing it at night with the backup camera. I found the lights to come on and go off at pretty much the perfect time. I haven't worried since and have never had a negative experience with other drivers. Just my 2...

David Silverman, president of American Atheists on CNN with Tesla

I finally made it to the current end of the thread. Congrats to all for keeping it civil. We always had an unwritten (but serious) rule in the cockpit of commercial airliners. Never discuss religion. Faith (and/or the lack of it) is just too volatile a subject while operating heavy machinery as...
