Finally Finished: Model Y Charging in Underground Condo Garage

I shared privately as well but for those in the Seattle area, Titan Electric did my install and I'm very happy with their work and their initial quote compared to the others I got.

Finally Finished: Model Y Charging in Underground Condo Garage

I like my spot, it's a former handicap spot (from when this place had unrestricted parking) that has no cars around it and is pretty much right next to to the elevator. This same spot a floor above is actually smaller too, so I think it's the best spot in the building. I could have traded for...

Finally Finished: Model Y Charging in Underground Condo Garage

This would have required separate conduit (and therefore another hole drilled) due to electrical code, the low voltage and high voltage cables have to be separated. Plus there's no real place I could have connected the Ethernet to Internet service on the 1st floor Yes, I can send you a Google...

Finally Finished: Model Y Charging in Underground Condo Garage

Here's some photos of the DCC-9 (my meter was on the bottom so it was easy to install) and the conduit coming from the electrical room and down into the garage. My bid sheet tells me it's 3/4" conduit with 8 gauge. I don't know the exact length of the run, but the estimate was ~200 ft...

Finally Finished: Model Y Charging in Underground Condo Garage

One of the best things about this spot was that it's next to a wall and the elevator shaft, so there's no one actually right next to me and no chance of door dings :) Though, I did ask about pulling more wires through the conduit (so I could charge someone else to pull their own wire through my...

Finally Finished: Model Y Charging in Underground Condo Garage

Absolutely, with new buildings this should be a requirement in my state. But, WA doesn't even have a right-to-charge law, so the HOA would have technically been in their rights to deny the installation if they wanted to, and I could definitely see some HOAs doing that. Allowing retrofits and...

Finally Finished: Model Y Charging in Underground Condo Garage

Thanks for taking a look everyone and all the positive feedback! It definitely isn't a project for everyone, but I'd rather have this than a renovated bathroom :) I'll probably do that, the cable does get warm but nowhere near uncomfortably so, but I should definitely make the loops bigger...

Finally Finished: Model Y Charging in Underground Condo Garage

After 2 months with my Y (and two years previously of another EV), I finally finished my project to install a charger in my underground condo garage. This has been quite a project, from initially proposing the charger to the HOA to getting it installed. Summary: - ~800' total of wire, some...

    Supercharger - Bellevue, WA

Definitely still closed and it's showing as such on the map. However, it looks done, just with the bubble wrap on the connectors.

It isn't today, but I can also confirm there are ticket stations being installed, so it will be.

How is the rear hatch supposed to be aligned

Mine is ever so slightly inset, but I never really noticed it as an issue. I'd still guess it was supposed to be flush, but if it was pushed out further to be flush, the gap at the top of the hatch where the glass is would be too big. You can see mine here.

Supercharging a brand new car (it is temporarily free?)

I picked up my car on May 28th, and I've had a credit card in my account since delivery. I supercharged the same day to make sure it was working, 2 days later on a road trip (twice) and wasn't charged for any of them. I supercharged again on 6/19 and was charged for that one.

Not much progress. Silly iPhone didn’t rotate the photos correctly, will have to fix when I get home.

    PNW Delivery?

The Monroney does actually list $41k base w/ a $11k LR AWD option. Based on this, I think I will contest the RTA tax amount and see what happens. Worst case, they say no and I'm paying what I already am paying now.

    PNW Delivery?

For anyone following my story, they called me *12 minutes* before my appointment to tell me they have additional things and wanted to postpone delivery. I asked whether I could see the issues, but didn't get an update from them for a while, so I went into the SC to speak to someone in person...
