Aftermarket wheels on Model 3: summary

Almost a year in now and extremely happy with my choices. TPMS work with no issues and tires have been amazing in both summer and winter.

Tesla Service Billing to swap to summer tires even when tires are already off the car

I was tempted to do that but don't want to have a problem when they arrive leaving me with the swap to still deal with in peak tire season. But agree with that approach, I'll try to reason with them and see if they will remove the fee.

Tesla Service Billing to swap to summer tires even when tires are already off the car

So $140 to service brakes + $50 to swap tires. I won't be petty and make the service person put the tires fully on/torque, and turn around and remove them again because it isn't their fault. But it's tempting. I might try to sneak up and secretly switch the tires while they're lying on ground...

Tesla Service Billing to swap to summer tires even when tires are already off the car

Getting my brakes serviced after winter to keep corrosion in check as suggested by Tesla. Since the wheels need to be removed to access the brakes, I asked to have summer tires put on at same time (ready to go on wheels) instead of putting winters back on. It's a bit early for summer tires but I...

    Mouse infiltrated Model 3

So the inlet grill cover didn't stop them?

Has anyone done the ceramic coating to the white seats?

Ceramic Pro "interior CP leather" on all white seats and high impact areas. Very minimal use so far so I can't tell any difference, wouldn't even know it's on there. Planning on keeping clean with unscented baby wipes. Apparently old-school non-detergent soap is effective for tougher stains...

    Mouse infiltrated Model 3

Very interested to know if the inlet grill cover solved the problem. We may not know until fall when mice start looking for warm places again. Would you mind adding a few updates to this thread over time?

    Mouse infiltrated Model 3

Has anyone with an aftermarket air inlet vent grill cover installed had mice get into their model 3? That seems like a possible solution but I don’t know if mice are still finding another way in. They need a gap of about 1cm to get in. I’m sure they could still get into the drunk but that...

All Performance Model 3 Currently Being Held on 2020.8.3?

Interesting how this also varies significantly by region.... 2020.11.1.2 to Europe, 12.11.1 almost exclusively US, 12.10 to multiple regions in parallel (including Canada). Aside from the slightly increased numbers going to 11.1.2 (Europe), still just a trickle going beyond 8.3/12.5/12.6 for...

    Service paperwork?

Same issue here. I reached out to customer support who told me they have nothing to do with service, not a great answer. But they did give me the email address for the service location I had been at. I tried texting service as well to request it, and then followed up again by email after they...

All Performance Model 3 Currently Being Held on 2020.8.3?

For those interested in understanding this issue, it seems it's actually all variants of Model 3 in general that are significantly over-indexed on version 8.3. And it's versions 12.1x that are heavily skewed toward non-Model 3s (not 12.5 or 12.6). Teslafi shows only 6% of Model 3s on version...

All Performance Model 3 Currently Being Held on 2020.8.3?

Found this post on Tesla Forums from a couple days ago. Tesla service confirmed he was rolled back to 8.3 due to issues with 12.5 and 8.3 is the latest available for his build (see text message quote below from service). Still not clear which combination of factors are leading to some M3s...

All Performance Model 3 Currently Being Held on 2020.8.3?

Again, if you read the post, you'll see this is based on Teslafi data, what other users have said, and what Tesla service has stated to me and another user who commented above. We're all just trying to piece this together, no need to judge it as silly. Are you trolling for reactions?

All Performance Model 3 Currently Being Held on 2020.8.3?

Yes it is different, if you read my OP I referenced the data set on Teslafi and I'm using language like "my best guess". I just think on these forums, if you are going to say something definitive like "incorrect" it should be a fact not an opinion or based on a single experience. I'm not...

All Performance Model 3 Currently Being Held on 2020.8.3?

Yes for sure, the only update that's meaningful is the dashcam/sentry viewer. But you still want to know that your car is updating properly, especially after a full computer replacement and a previous connection issue. That and I work in the software industry so I'm used to a lot better...
