New panel + PW install - Tesla Inverter light off & SSID unavailable

That's how it is supposed to be. I am surprised if any city or utility would approve the design without a disconnect on the PV inverters. I have a blade disconnect between the PV inverter and the utility meter that measures my solar production. My utility also wants a meter for the Powerwall. I...

New panel + PW install - Tesla Inverter light off & SSID unavailable

Agree with @jjrandorin . So, I went through every switch and breaker repeatedly on a couple of different days to check if there is something I am missing. Every single thing is turned on. Can't for the heck of me make out why the Inverter won't turn on. Kicking myself for not asking the...

New panel + PW install - Tesla Inverter light off & SSID unavailable

Have not found a switch on the Tesla Inverter.

New panel + PW install - Tesla Inverter light off & SSID unavailable

Oh... Then, I suspect that my Inverter may not be commissioned. Although I would expect it to at least turn on, even if not commissioned. I find it strange that everything was not set up to be in working condition before the inspection. I'll contact Tesla Support and see what they say. Worst...

New panel + PW install - Tesla Inverter light off & SSID unavailable

There is a 40A breaker in the TEG2 labeled solar. It is already turned on. TEG2 is already commissioned and connected to my network. It's only the Inverter that's not coming online! There was no Tesla person present during city inspection. He came the day the system was installed, but he didn't...

Any way to set Tesla app to Self powered from 8am-noon and TBC-cost saving rest of time?

I don't understand why Powerwall would behave this way. In Cost Saving mode, one would expect that it will try to maximize the saving. That means, it should provide max power during the peak period. Not provide power during off peak, and run out of power during peak. That sounds contrary to the...

New panel + PW install - Tesla Inverter light off & SSID unavailable

I have a new solar panel + 2 Powerwall install waiting for PTO after inspection. The utility net meter has not been installed yet. In the mean time, I tried turning on the system to make sure everything is working okay and identify any issues in advance. Have heard of other people being able to...

Any way to set Tesla app to Self powered from 8am-noon and TBC-cost saving rest of time?

Exactly. I don't know why anyone would use balanced mode.

Tesla app not showing home usage when there is solar

That's ~ $1120 in one winter. That's a damn good return! You will make bank in the summer. Your Powerwalls will pay for themselves within a few years. Also, if Tesla is paying you this much, imagine how much they are getting paid! Most people don't realize how much money Tesla will make by...

    Arizona Powerwall Installs

Had my 8.16 kw panels plus 2 Powerwalls installed last week. Was surprised to see a meter slot for measuring power going into the Powerwalls. The installers told me that APS requires a separate meter for the Powerwalls for the past year or so. Wondering why they would want that info...

    17kW System = 98.4 kWh Production (5.79kWh/kW of Panels)

Amazing! You are double the generation of my friend in Arizona. Which direction do your panels face?

    Sunlight Financial balloon payment.

This loan is very much structured like a mortgage. Just that they assume you will pay the entire tax credit to them as a one time balloon payment before the 18th month. And they structure the loan from the very beginning as if your principal loan amount is the cost of the install minus that...

    Sunlight Financial balloon payment.

OP is specifically asking about a balloon payment that is built into the contract. That payment most definitely goes to pay off the principal. This loan is also structured to apply any additional payments towards the principal.

    17kW System = 98.4 kWh Production (5.79kWh/kW of Panels)

That's some great production from all of you. My friend who recently installed a 8.16 kW system has been averaging only 20 kWh per day, these past few days in sunny Phoenix!

    Sunlight Financial balloon payment.

They don't charge interest on that balloon payment until the 18th month. So, no financial incentive to paying it early, except perhaps the peace of mind. That balloon payment is the equivalent of your tax credit. They assume that you will use the entire tax credit to pay down the principal on...
