All season tires that don’t cut range for a 2018 MX

Specifically they were the Scorpion A3s, though the Scorpion Weatheractives were also on sale at my local Discount Tyre/Tire.

All season tires that don’t cut range for a 2018 MX

AAAAARRRGGGHHH!!!!! Too late! I just got four new Pirelli Scorpions put on yesterday, at Discount Tire Store. I wish I had checked back here and seen your post first. Will have to wait another 30,000 miles. Thank you for your recommendation.

All season tires that don’t cut range for a 2018 MX

I’m thinking about going with the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3s for our X100D, that rides on 20 inch rims. I hope I won’t regret doing so. My highest priority is low road/tyre noise. My second priority is maximising range. I don’t care that much how long they’ll last since I’d want to get rid...

Door Seal Wind Noise Kit for Model X - anybody try?

That’s a shame. And you’re right. Spent almost an hour installing these seals, no instructions provided, and they made no difference. The Model X out of the box is already a very loud vehicle. Above 25 mph the cabin drones and roars with a cacophony of creaks, rattles, road and wind noise...

    Charging Errors

I followed your advice last night and lowered amperage from the maximum of 72 amps to 68 amps. Car started on schedule (midnight), and completed the charge to my preset 80%. Worked like a charm! Thanks so much.

    2018 model maintenance costs

What on earth is a receiver drier and dessicant (bag)? Where does it go, and what does it do?

    Model 3 Road Noise

I’m wondering if your technique would work on a Model X. When I get home I’m thinking about pulling off the rocker panels and copying you. But I’d better have some silicone glue on hand before I start. It’ll be my luck that I’ll destroy all those clips.

    Model 3 Road Noise

Thank you for confirming my biases. After trying out different brands I ended with some variation of the Pirelli Cinturatos. Now all our Teslas, a Model S and two Model Xs are shod with Pirelli All Seasons of some kind. Not only are the Pirellis the quietest tyres I’ve ridden on, but...

    Tipping for PPF?

I’m about to face this situation myself. A few weeks ago I turned in my brand new Lucid Air GT to the same outfit who wrapped and coated our previous three Teslas. When I pick up my car the shop will have it for five days. Total bill for PPF, ceramic coating and tinting, $4900. Should I...

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

I just got it done, both half shafts. Approximately $1400 in San Diego CA.

the automatic driver door is not opening when I approach the vehicle

Thank you for your response, Shawn. I appreciate it very much. Will add checking the central body controller to my list of things to be looked at on my upcoming service visit.

the automatic driver door is not opening when I approach the vehicle

Reviving an old reply here since this just happened to me. Got new batteries for both fobs. Don’t have the other fob on me right now to test. What’s the Central Body Controller? Thanks.

Ticking noise on acceleration and regen (not the single click or the acceleration shudder or the rocking chair creak)

Thanks for your update, and this time with good news! I listened to your video again. If ever I hear a sound like that in our Model X, I’ll know what it is. Thanks again.

Ticking noise on acceleration and regen (not the single click or the acceleration shudder or the rocking chair creak)

Unfortunately, it can be. Though I would have hoped that by now Tesla had gotten itself ahead of the spare parts curve. Our Model X100D was involved in a collision that almost totaled it. Fortunately none in my family were hurt. The other driver, the one at fault, was not so lucky. It took...
