Delivery delayed a week due to "fit-and-finish" issues

Geeze, this is just as bad as mine. Was this advertised as a new car? If it was, that is borderline criminal.

Quality Issues on Model S built in March 2020

UPDATE: Liner in the trunk had to be ordered because it was "Deformed" or permanently bent. Not even sure how that happens, but apparently there are no clips that keep the liner in place. It's just tucked in. Regarding, sensor wires being exposed when they replaced the bumper, I got tired of...

    Model S Delivery checklist

This is great, thanks for posting this. I wish I had something like this when I got my Model S last month. Although some of my issues were so blatantly horrible you can't miss it. I would recommend that you also inspect the windshield in the sun or different lighting. Some things don't show up...

My Delivery Experience - Turned Out Well

Glad to hear. Your new Y looks great. I read somewhere that the Ys will generally have lower quality issues due to the way it's built.

Anyone else order a new Model S in Q2?

Good luck! Getting the manufacturing lines back into a rhythm is going to take time. Tesla needs to make an extra effort to fix these defects 100%!

    Bumper alignment issue?

Well...what you have looks a lot like what I have and they replaced it without question. I wonder if there is a potential for water accumulation the way it is now.

Quality Issues on Model S built in March 2020

Ha! That's what they said to me too. They actually use that verbatim in the service summary PDF. Does anyone know if there is an official "spec" document? Unless there is an obvious safety issue I imagine it's subjective.

    Bumper alignment issue?

Sorry you have the same problem. I just received my Model S in early May (built in mid March) and had the same issue. There were a few scratches on the bumper too. They decided to replace the entire bumper so something must have been "off-spec" enough for them to do that. The gaps were fixed...

Agree, there are certain issues like gaps and fit that are not worth addressing.

The chip was probably from transport, there already was some touch paint so it's obvious the delivery team tried to fix it and hoped I wouldn't notice. The clear coat overspray on the windsheild and hood should have been caught

Delivery delayed a week due to "fit-and-finish" issues

I strongly recommend that you reject delivery and just wait until the factory gets truly operational. I too have a covid car (Model S built in early March) and am now on the 3rd service center visit to fix all the issues. It's so bad, as if it skipped QC entirely. Keep in mind, there's only so...

If your new car isn't sent to a service center to finish assembly, it's not a REAL Tesla

    Touch Up Paint Kits

Does anyone have experience with the Touch Up Paint Kit on the Tesla.com Store or any of the other kits sold on Amazon or Dr Color Chip? Paint Repair Kit I'm going to try and fill 2 chips that came with my new car that the service center apparently can't or won't fix. Quality Issues on Model...
