    Firmware 2019.12.1.2

I noticed this a few times and always around dusk. I was told it is because it detects a large metal object. My guess is that its using more weighting of the radar rather than cameras at that time of day. It seems to coincide with bridges (on or under).

Supercharger - Carlsbad, CA (7710 El Camino Real, LIVE 27 Sep 2018, 26 urban stalls)

I rarely supercharge as I have free charging at work I came here a few months ago and charging was slow. I came again today and again slow. Sure I started at 140mi but am only getting 34-38kW. Is that unusual? It is very busy but this is half speed.

    Model 3 Charging Efficiency

I have had a model 3 for 8 months and have done about 8k miles. I have recorded every charge and reading available to me. Including what is in my battery at the moment I have done 7986 miles and 2161 kWh have been added (based on what the charging station reports has been used --- mostly...

Supercharger - San Diego, CA (Qualcomm / Pacific Heights Blvd., 12 V2 stalls)

New 20 stall tesla supercharger opened in Carlsbad la costa yesterday - maybe we will see reduced lines at Qualcomm sc?

Awesome my first charge at La Costa. It's working nicely. I am the only car here. Model 3 - getting 74kW = 307 mi/hr (it has been mostly 72kW but jumped to 74kW!). Great location. Rather eerie at night on your own. All I can hear is the power lines overhead crackling. I am sure this...

For discussing the issue of locals charging at California Superchargers

FWIW - I asked SDGE if I can switch to TOU5 and they said I have to wait another 11 months. SDGE are definitely not very EV friendly and clearly one of the most expensive utilities in USA, which really makes them an EV discourager. Which is why we are so keen for this la costa station to open up.

For discussing the issue of locals charging at California Superchargers

Thats awesome, but those of us who just got on TOU-2 plans have to wait a year. It was a bad move actually as $0.23 super off peak otherwise crazy $0.29 and $0.54c rates are not very effective --- and I cant afford to run my A/C anymore at $0.54c during the time I need it. SDGE really sucks...

Is it possible to access / use the legoland chargers without a hotel booking or entry to the park? I have tried, but live 1.5 miles away.

    Model 3 crazy vampire drain

Interested to know if vampire drain has disappeared for other owners? I mentioned in another topic, mine was regularly 8-9 per day/night and now it's mostly zero. I am not sure which action fixed it but I did: 1- Rebalanced the battery. 2- Changed password so Tezlabs cannot access the car...

Phantom / Vampire Drain on Model 3

My vampire drain is down to next to nothing(max 3 miles a day -- usually 1 mile) after 9-10 miles per day. In addition to the things I mentioned earlier, I have also disabled Tezlabs. I changed the password on my Tesla account so it can no longer Poll my car. The Tesla service guy said if...

Phantom / Vampire Drain on Model 3

Oh another useful nugget Tesla mentioned. The car will sleep when not in use but goes into deep sleep after 4hours. Personally I just changed my password to stop Teslabs pinging my car during deep sleep and waking it.

Phantom / Vampire Drain on Model 3

Just set limit on charge screen - eg 70% - charge up to this and then just leave car plugged in charging for a couple more hours.

Phantom / Vampire Drain on Model 3

Even more weirdness today - I got Vampire GAIN. I left car with 251 miles and then 8 hours later, when I finished work it had 253. But I have also noticed every time I park, even for 15-20 minutes, I return and I have lost another mile. Beats me - all I know is the vampire is eating 15%+ of...

Phantom / Vampire Drain on Model 3

Ok - so I spent a few sessions with Tesla and they were monitoring my battery. It has now reduced to about 5mi a day from 10mi a day, and they also provided lots of useful information, which I shall share with you. Maybe it will help with you too... 1- The banging and whirring is something to...

Phantom / Vampire Drain on Model 3

So I reported this to Tesla as 8-10 each day is too much and I ran out of patience. Took a while to get thorough, but eventually and they routed me to next level down the support chain. Tesla support guy from Hawaii called me, looked at my logs. He has asked me to set to % remaining (rather...
