Long Range, Rear Wheel Drive Owners - Step in Please

June 2018 build, 20k miles. 80%: don't know, used to be 247 before range increase 90%: 285 100%: 317 Rated range increase: kind of, went from 307 at the time to 317. Never saw 320+ Above numbers are best-case; sometimes (maybe half the time) the charge comes in a mile or two less. Peak...

Anyone seen or experiencing 2nd gen seat start deteriorating or tears?

15000 miles, black seats still look great. Kids have spilled/dropped all sorts of crap on them, everything just comes right off with a baby wipe.

SR+ vs LR RWD. How much more pain on a long trip?

For me, the biggest advantage of LR vs SR is the flexibility to choose WHICH SC to stop at, vs. basically having to stop at all of them. Many SCs are great - easy to access, uncrowded, and at places you might want to stop anyway. And then you have some that are out-of-the-way through heavy...

Does anybody notice phantom braking while on TACC with 8.3 or 8.5?

I've never had any totally "phantom" braking that others describe - plenty of times TACC brakes when it shouldn't (car moving out of lane, car turning in front 300 feet away, car drifting over a bit, etc.) and it does seem like maybe it is a bit more sensitive on recent updates, but there is...

    Why no Silver paint option?

IIRC, silver was approximately half as popular as the next-least popular color on Model 3's (black, I think, although that's probably gone way up with the paint price increases and cheaper car options introduced since then.) Too bad; silver was my second choice and now I wish I'd gone with it...

How many Teslas you see a day?

Probably about 3 a week on average now in exurban-rural TN (not counting the 4 that are now owned by people I know!) which is insane - I probably saw about 6 in all of 2018 (besides mine), 2 or 3 in 2017. If I go to Nashville or Franklin/Brentwood (poshy suburbs) I am now guaranteed at least...

    Third-party TeslaOS in-car apps?

Elon was asked exactly this question very recently (can't remember where) and his response was basically "not practical to develop until we reach 10m cars on the road - might think about it at that point."

"$35,000 Tesla Model 3 Available Now"

I just wanted to say that as someone who does generally prefer a good-quality cloth seat vs nappa or other "high-end" leather seats (certainly not to the level of loathing of @realvvk , but generally speaking would pay a grand or two if I absolutely had to to stay away from "real leather,")...

How does this Model 3 have ventilated seats?

Very little in the front - they made the side bolsters a little more pronounced and changed the design of the stitching slightly. Big difference was the rear seat - they added much more padding to the Gen 2 rear seats in response to complaints. The Gen 2 back seat is much more comfortable for...

    Supercharger - Alpharetta, GA

So, these chargers are not available any more at all, even after hours? I’ll be going down in a couple of weeks to visit a friend in this area for a few days - really would like to avoid Chattanooga if at all possible, and it would be possible if there were any kind of viable local charging...

Lost bass speakers and rear channels I only get a cyclic thump

This happened to me last week, a day or two after update to 5.15. Exact symptoms as listed in OP, right as I got off a phone call. Was going to reset when I got to where I was going, but a few minutes later I received another phone call and everything came back, a split second before the phone...

AP - turn signal should not disengage autosteer, per Tesla service

Can confirm now - I just tried it both ways back-to-back on the same multi-lane road (with and without turn signal on) and the steering wheel does move out of autosteer MUCH easier when the turn signal is on. It does need to be moved though. Mystery solved, I think! :D

AP - turn signal should not disengage autosteer, per Tesla service

Well now we're getting to the crux of it. Thanks for posting that! Maybe all the people who reported that their turn signals were turning off autosteer were/are having the same "mass hallucination."

AP - turn signal should not disengage autosteer, per Tesla service

Yes. I don't think so. I made it very clear in the request that I was talking about the new AP and not EAP and said something about "instead of auto lane change", so if he were talking about EAP he would have mentioned auto lane change.

AP - turn signal should not disengage autosteer, per Tesla service

I made a service appointment this morning (for next Monday) in order to investigate what is happening with the new basic autopilot and turn signal disengage that so many have reported. Here’s a short text convo just a bit ago: The only additional context I can add is that these guys cover a...
