Power Delay [acceleration delay when pushing accelerator]

I notice this "lag" every so often. I have AB, and regularly punch it when I am first in line at the red light. I keep OAA on, and it is likely the cause of those occasional 'lags', but my preference is to keep the OAA setting on, and have a slight delay on launch maybe one time in a hundred...

What's the EV life like when Model 3 is the only car and drives 40k+ miles a year? Spoiler Alert, very long experience sharing

I have had my Model 3 AWD+ for 2 and a half years, with 46000 km driven. It is my only car, and I couldn't disagree more with this anti-recommendation. I live in an apartment, and I have no charging at home. I do have charging at work, though not reliably (shared with quite a few other EVs at...

    Sudden increase in WH/km

No change in tires or significant change in weather - BUT, a two finger salute (resetting the car) did solve whatever unknown issue there was. Trips back to the 170-180 KW/km range once again. Yay! This really is a computer on wheels - adding a reset to the the default problem solving algorithm.

    Sudden increase in WH/km

I know about the winter effect (I usually run around 150-160 in the warmer months), and the increase has not occurred with a cooling of the weather - it is the same if not a slight bit warmer than before the sudden increase in energy usage.

    Sudden increase in WH/km

In the past week, my usage has gone from around 170-180 WH/km to 230-240 WH/km - the outside temperature is about the same, and my usage is a bit less than usual, but not significantly. What, if anything, should I look at or try to do in order to address this? I will be double checking the tire...

    Zipcharge looks interesting

So, I found this proposed device today - supposed to be coming in 2022: https://www.zipcharge.global Since I live in an apartment, it seems like a worthwhile thing to have. I have signed up for further information, and if you also fall into the demographic (EV owner without charging ability at...

Master Thread: Model 3s on the Track / drag strip- Videos, Discussion, Setup, Etc

I don't have a video (and I can post my time slip if proof needed), but I took my AWD+ to the drag strip for the first time ever today, and at 94% SOC, I ran 11.899 seconds, with a trap speed of 116.53 MPH. On the stock 18' wheels with CrossClimate+ tires (I'm sure the Mustang GT driver I beat...

    Best M3 All-season tire - Crossclimate2?

This, more than the amount of snow we get in southern B.C., is the main reason I went with the CC - I doubt any of those raw data tests were done in freezing temps, which dramatically impact most non-winter tire compounds.

Winter driving advice, winter tire choices, etc.

I have a March 2020 build, and I have also never had an unintended wash.

Not impressed with AP, why get FSD?

You don't need to apply 'pressure' to the steering wheel, just a little (very little) bit of torque, as though you were going to turn. It becomes second nature to hold the wheel that way. As for not slowing for traffic in front of you, how many car lengths have you set your TACC (Traffic Aware...

    Best Song for Premium Audio?

Much of his oeuvre is great in the Model 3, but the combination of highs, lows, and the size of the musical space really shines: Buckjump by Trombone Shorty

    Rain Deflector Needed?

It's strong enough now for me to be able to (slightly) rock the whole car by pushing just on the deflector. We'll see about longevity...

    Rain Deflector Needed?

So here's a video of the water going into the trunk, on a level surface (apologies for not cutting it short) Then, here's a video of what happens after the deflector is on: And here are some pictures of how it looks in place: There is a small dent in it (unsure if it was from...

    Rain Deflector Needed?

I tested my March 2020 build on a level surface, and water drips into the trunk from the back window (when the trunk is open). I just got my rain deflector, so I will take a brief video of before and after, and a few photos of it installed, sometime this weekend.
