    Solar panel storm damage repair?

Just got through a bad storm, next town over a tornado landed and we still got so bad the house shook... we have debris flying all over. Patio table from 2 house down if I'm my backyard. I think one of the panel may have been cracked... Need a zoom lens for a better look but it's raining...

Open circuit string voltage of 17 volts...is this normal?

Sounds like either bad panel or bad intermittent MCI. I had the intermittent MCI and took a while for. Roof crew to come out and replace 3 of the 4 MCI (they didn't bring enough) on the string. Luckily that seem to have fixed it

Using 100% of the solar your panels produce [DC / AC ratio]

Using 100% of the solar your panels produce [DC / AC ratio]

People also tend to forget, you GAIN production during the "shoulder" before and after clipping, usually that exceed or offset the clipping All these clipping complaint is a side effect of Tesla's flat rate pricing structure, if folks were told, yeah you need to add $3000 for a second inverter...

11.6kw Solar Roof, but only one Inverter?

FYI, a 1.2 to 1.3x DC/AC overage (not overdrive) is fairly common when you use other solar company that charge for material use (each inverter add more cost). It is usually cheaper to get to 1.2 to 1.3x DC vs AC to get more generation during the "shoulder" (morning/afternoon before/after...

Daily reset/shutdown of my Powerwall+ and/or Inverter after coolant top-off?

yeah if its 7am and not +10 minutes everyday I wouldn't mind too much

How many strings should I have?

Conduits can only fit so many wire of certain size. For my install with 46 panels in 5 string (3.8+7.6) they needed 2 conduits, 1 can fit 4 thicker pv wire from 2 string, the other they had to switch in a roof junction box from 3 strings of pv into 3 strings of thnn (thinner jacket) to fit it...

Storm Watch failed us again [in MA, Late July 2021]

In Chicago area, storm mode has been activating for t-storm warning the past 2 months. Didn't activate for t-storm Before.... I would say within 5 mins too from when I get AccuWeather warning

    Design Question

I think to add a EV charger, you will need to upgrade the 125a service disconnect panel to a 200a. Have not done the load calculation but 90a sounds reasonable for a house and if you add another 50a.... That would be too much

    Power on but app confused

You just have to find out if it's a neurino (typical with a pw+) or the gateways plug in X or Y meter (have to open the gateway inner panel cover) Then set it up in the wizard

    Power on but app confused

If you are fairly techy AND handy, you can find out what meter and configure the gateway accordingly using installer mode

    Tesla inverter DC wiring

Jumpered mppt is normal for parallel strings. But parallel strings normally should face same direction.

    Power wall plus 170% capacity?

Tesla charge by per watt DC, they charge thw same for a 7.6 alone or adding another 3.8. they used to charge the same when they used the solar edge 10kw inverter. We are getting only 7.6 now because Tesla in-house the inverter but dont offer a 10kw option. So in early 2021 they were installing...

    Power wall plus 170% capacity?

Goal is to generate the most output, 1.7 is leaving a lot on the table, while 1.3 to 1.1 is minimal gain.
