Vermont to Florida -- the slow way -- on FSD 10.3

Leg 2 -- Sunday evening, October 24 -- Foxborough, Massachusetts to Bernardsville, New Jersey - 251 miles (422 so far) Because of the temporary recall of FSD 10.3, this drive was done on the old highway FSD stack, though it was 99.9% autopilot nonetheless. One thing that was noteworthy...

Vermont to Florida -- the slow way -- on FSD 10.3

A long-planned trip in my Model Y was due to start at 7:30am Sunday. I'd carefully guarded a 99 Safety Score over 1200 miles in hopes that I'd get the FSD beta and be able to write about a nearly 2,000 mile drive from Quechee, Vermont, to Naples, Florida on FSD 10.3. A 100 score on my Model 3...

Got 2021.36.5.2 But Now 2021.36.5.1 is Downloading

I am currently receiving 36.5.3 over cellular while driving, not on WiFi. In fact, the area I'm in says 3G, and it's still downloading. Based on my experience over the weekend, FSD Beta updates appear to be enabled for cellular download, not requiring WiFi.

Battery Degradation: Tale of Two Teslas

Thanks for that reply, @manttium. Yes, it is definitely apples-to-apples -- at least in the first 2/3 of the chart. At least until 50,000 miles, the fleet benchmark is 13 other vehicles; by 70,000 miles there were just 3 other vehicles, and the flat line after 80,000 miles suggests that I'm...

Battery Degradation: Tale of Two Teslas

I've been tracking battery range degradation religiouslyon my two Teslas -- a four-year-old Model X and a two-year-old Model 3, and differences in battery performance versus the fleet average are truly remarkable. My Model X 90D, delivered in June, 2016, started at 264 miles of range, but is...

Fair Warning: From "Air Suspension Needs Service" --> Total Failure

No, unfortunately it was in warranty when I first saw the light intermittently, but it wasn't clear it was a real problem (lots of people on the forum were reporting these warnings as a software bug) until the light became continuous and the ride got sloppy. By that time, I was over 50,000 miles.

Fair Warning: From "Air Suspension Needs Service" --> Total Failure

Yes, that was my plan too...but the warranty mileage crept up on me, since 50,000 miles came a lot faster than 4 years did (2.5 years to be exact). Given their connected-car telemetry, I was surprised not to have gotten a notification and offer from Tesla shortly before I hit the warranty wall...

Fair Warning: From "Air Suspension Needs Service" --> Total Failure

When I left a Tesla Service center a couple of months ago after a complete tire swap-out for my MX 90D, I noticed an "Air Suspension Needs Service" warning. But after I made a stop on the way home, the warning disappeared. Then I saw it again several times, and it rarely stayed on for more...

42.3 Bug Report: Charging stops 1% short of target

I have experienced this, too, on 2018.42.3. Last several charges:

    No Tesla’s in Boston?

In the Rte 2/128 area northwest of Boston, I often see 4 or 5 a day, not counting my two!

    Supercharger - Woburn, MA

The Woburn Supercharger location appears to have totally dropped off the newly-revised Supercharger map from Tesla. There is now one planned in 2018 for Burlington — the only Find Us | Tesla Does anyone know the backstory around dropping Woburn?

    2018.4.1 ec044c8 was detected on a Tesla Model X + What's your FW now

Actually I just got it OTA on my Model X because a mobile service tech worked on my car this morning. Here are the release notes -- tire pressure units and automatic heated steering wheel.

Harvard/MIT Research on Tesla Driving/Performance (Machine Learning)

A group of graduate students I know from Harvard and MIT are looking for volunteers to participate in a machine learning / data-mining project designed to give new insights about driving, performance, routing, etc. to drivers of Tesla automobiles. They're seeking Tesla drivers who are willing...

Harvard / MIT machine learning research

All -- I know the leader of the team who's conducting this study. They're solid, reliable graduate students at Harvard and MIT who are committed to really using machine learning to help give insights to us Tesla drivers. I'm participating, and I recommend this to my fellow Tesla drivers. Michael

Is Model X's efficiency really this bad?

I hadn't noticed it, but during some minor maintenance on another matter, Tesla Service swapped compressor lines on my car. I have no idea the impact, since that work was done in January and we don't use a whole lot of A/C around here (New England) this time of year!
