Someone in the Facebook Roadster group posted a link to a Reddit discussion about a Roadster that's abandoned on the street in San Francisco. Not sure the VIN, but maybe someone here knows what's up with it and could even arrange a rescue.

In terms of CAC, it's almost entirely time (see the long 3.0 Longevity thread where I collected data). I don't have enough information to figure out what correlation there is with their just dying like they have been, but the rumor mill says that it's all the early ones that have been dying...

I wonder if the new 3.0 packs will die after a few years like the original 3.0 packs did.

The real question is whether the new ones will fail like this after a few years, or if it was specific to packs made in 2016/2017. I'm not really excited to shell out another 30K every few years. I suppose we can wait a while and see if more and more 3.0 packs do this. Given the 6 month wait...

You can drive it. It will take longer to balance that way, because it's only doing the balancing when it's plugged in at full charge, but unless you're in a hurry it's not a big deal.
