Supercharger - Madras, OR (LIVE Jul 2022, 8 V3 stalls)

Noticed Madras charging full on Friday before Memorial Day. Probably not the first time, but first time I have seen a wait!

Transformer! Not sure if the chargers work yet though...

Okay, just drove over there (three minutes from home), and they do NOT work (they won’t open the charger port cover door, which is good enough for me as not working). As per this photo attached, they once had the covers on the chargers, so WHY would they take them off?? Or why not use traffic...

Pretty close to the road, so I was thinking underground, but I’m not that knowledgeable. That concrete pad has that diamond-plate access cover, so maybe? It didn’t show on our Tesla map yet in the car. 🤷‍♂️

I just drove by coming back from a work trip. It looks open!? No signs of construction, the “net“ covers are gone from each charger, signs are up. No cars charging, but I didn’t have time to go and inspect up close. No additional cabinets since last time thou either, but why would they make...

That previous photo only shows the concrete where that newer cabinet on the right was to go, but this photo may show some additional concrete beyond it? I wasn’t there this time, my wife took the photos. I will go and check it out again later this week.

Looks like most equipment is gone and main work completed. But the protection posts still need to be added, along with some concrete work around the chargers, signs.

Last night update. They have two electrical cabinets in, but if you look at that photo closely, all the conduits for the chargers come into that concrete pad on the left edge. Not much changed with the chargers, but this photo is sharper…

It's a huge deal! I bet this site will be packed with a line on July 4th weekend (hope it is opened by then!) Although it is not my thing or business, it would be a great place for a coffee/food truck stand ("Cafe recharge" "VoltCoffee" "LithiumLatte" or something!)

Last night’s progress: nice shiny units in, and concrete was freshly poured for one of the electrical boxes near the entrance (Not pictured).

I didn’t look at the plans, but recalled reading a reference to the liquor store which would be south one lane, but sure you are right. Usually these chargers are off to a quiet edge in parking lots. This is front and center to the ingress/egress.
